Meet the QUALISOY Board of Directors
Robert Earl, MPH, RD, LD
Prior to joining GMA, Bob was vice president of public health at the International Food Information Council, Washington, D.C., directing food communications and education programs on food safety, food allergens, and nutrition topics. Before joining IFIC, he was a study director at the Food and Nutrition Board, Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, where he co-directed studies on nutrition and food labeling, and directed other nutrition and food policy studies. Earlier, he was administrator of government affairs at the Washington office of The American Dietetic Association. Bob is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), American Public Health Association, and Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). He is an elected member of Delta Omega, the national public health honor society, and was the 1999 Kaufman Distinguished Lecturer in Public Health Nutrition at UNC Chapel Hill. In 1997, the District of Columbia Metropolitan Area Dietetic Association chose him as the Outstanding Dietitian of the Year. He is a past Speaker of ADA’s House of Delegates and member of the ADA Board of Directors, and has served in numerous other leadership capacities within the ADA. Bob currently is chair-elect of ADA’s Food and Culinary Professionals Dietetic Practice Group. Within IFT, he is a director at large with the Nutrition Division. This is Bob’s first year as a QUALISOY Board member, and the first time GMA has been represented on the Board. Bob holds a BS in human nutrition from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and a MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. © 2008 QUALISOY |
