Customer Demand
While soybean oil currently accounts for about 80 percent of the edible oil in the United States, some large food companies are eliminating the use of soybean oil in their products as a response to pressure from consumer health concerns and new government labeling laws. Keeping soybean oil number one is a top goal for the QUALISOY Board. In addition to helping accelerate development and commercialization of low linolenic varieties, the QUALISOY Board is working to create soybeans with increased oleic acid and reduced saturated fat traits.
