Rewards for Quality
Currently, several processors are paying a premium for enhanced soybean oil traits. Below are just a few of the premium programs that processors offer for low linolenic varieties. For the most up-to-date information, contact your local grain elevator.


Ag Processing
As part of its history of soybean component premiums, AGP is offering a $.40 premium at its Mason City and Sheldon, Iowa processing plants to soybean farmers who are growing the VISTIVE™ soybean varieties, Asgrow 2321V & Asgrow 2421V. These varieties produce soybean oil with reduced trans fats.

Asoyia
Farmers receive an up front premium of $0.55 per bushel for growing Asoyia 2704 and Asoyia 3204, 1% low linolenic soybean varieties. The oil is processed through a partnership with Cargill and marketed as Asoyia Ultra Low-Lin Soybean Oil. Farmers receive an additional premium based on one-third of Asoyia’s net profit soybean oil sales.

Cargill
Cargill is offering a $.40 premium to Iowa farmers who grow VISTIVE soybeans. The oil from these Roundup Ready® soybeans will help U.S. food companies in labeling their product as trans fat-free while still being able to use soybean oil.

DeBruce Grain
As part of its partnership with Bunge and DuPont, DeBruce Grain in Creston, Iowa is offering a $.40 premium program for Pioneer 93M20, a Roundup Ready soybean variety. The oil from this variety is the low linolenic NUTRIUM technology that is marketed to U.S. food companies.

Pioneer® brand variety 93M20
During 2005, Bunge will pay premiums for the delivery of Pioneer variety 93M20 grain to select participating elevators in Iowa. The premium is set at $.40 per bushel. Participating growers must provide the grain to elevators within an identity-preserved system. Pioneer variety 93M20 must be purchased from a Pioneer sales professional.
