QUALISOY®: Where Collaboration Meets Innovation

QUALISOY is an independent, third-party collaboration among the soybean industry that serves as a resource for the latest enhanced soybean oils. Our goal is to anticipate and better meet the needs of farmers, processors, developers, the food industry and, ultimately, end users. Traits to improve soybean meal for livestock feed are also on the horizon.

The QUALISOY Board of Directors is a diverse group made up of industry leaders with extensive experience in the soybean industry. The role of the board is to set research priorities, evaluate existing and emerging technologies and determine the traits, products and processes that are most beneficial to the soy industry and end users.

The QUALISOY mission: To create added value and increase global competitiveness for the U.S. soybean industry through assistance in the development, commercialization and promotion of enhanced-quality traits.

  • Richard Galloway

    Oils Expert

    Isle of Palms, SC
    Richard Galloway, QUALISOY consultant, is president of Galloway & Associates, LLC, and consults with domestic and foreign agricultural processing, vegetable oil refining and grain handling industries. He is also co-editor of the book Soybeans: Chemistry, Production, Processing, and Utilization, published by the American Oil Chemists’ Society. Galloway provides insights on market, technical, strategic and business perspectives of crushing, refining and food production to QUALISOY.
  • Frank Flider

    Oils Expert
    QUALISOY Staff
    Scottsdale, AZ
    Frank Flider, QUALISOY consultant, is active in the Institute of Food Technologists and American Oils Chemists' Society, and serves as senior associate editor for the Journal of the American Oil Chemists Society. Flider is the author of numerous technical papers and holds two U.S. patents. He brings more than 35 years of technical, managerial and marketing experience in the oilseed and agricultural biotech industries to QUALISOY.
  • Chris Schroeder

    QUALISOY Staff
    Savoy, IL
    Chris Schroeder, QUALISOY consultant, is the director of Centrec Consulting Group. Schroeder also manages family farm operation producing corn and soybeans in southern Illinois. He offers broad expertise to QUALISOY that includes organizational strategy, grain quality assessment, supply chain analysis, research project management, sustainable development and educational program development.
  • Mark Winkle, Ph.D.

    QUALISOY Staff
    Chesterfield, MO
    Dr. Mark Winkle manages services for the United Soybean Board, the U.S. soybean checkoff with USDA oversight. USB consists of 70 farmer-director volunteers that invest and leverage checkoff funds to increase the value of U.S. soybean meal and oil. A 25-year food industry veteran, Winkle provides strategic and tactical insight for USB program planning and implementation. Prior to his current role, Winkle worked for Cargill Hybrid Seeds/Mycogen Seeds and Monsanto’s Agricultural Group. Winkle received a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a M.S. in Agronomy from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also received a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  
  • Vicki Nesper

    Vicki Nesper carries extensive PR and marketing experience that includes ingredient marketing, consumer and industry research, nutrition communication, public affairs, issues management, collateral development and more.
  • Greta Bierbaum

    QUALISOY Staff
    St. Louis, MO

    Greta Bierbaum leads farmer engagement activities for both QUALISOY and the United Soybean Board’s Oil Target Area. Bierbaum’s primary focus is raising awareness and understanding of high oleic soybeans with the soybean farmer audience. She brings 10 years of farmer communications experience to QUALISOY.
